| Kisatchie National Forest is considered one of Louisiana's treasures and March is high season for the Wild Azaleas that this trail is known for. On this special day trip, you'll hike parts of the Wild Azalea trail. Our route will start at Evangeline Camp and cross Lamotte Creek amidst the hardwood bottomland before intersecting the Kinkaid lake trail. Once on the Kinkaid trail, you'll have views of the lake and possibly views of a Bald Eagle that nests there. We'll start early to beat the heat and hike around 7 miles - arriving back at the cars for a special lunch.
