near Ville Platte, this park offers hiking, backpacking, and
mountain bike trails bordering Lake Chicot. The Park also offers
cabins and campsites and rental canoes. The arboretum provides
additional trails and exhibits to enhance your camping experience.

Creek
This camping area offers both primitive and developed campsites. Toilets,
showers, tables, and hookups for water and electricity are available.
Recreational Opportunities are boating, swimming, hiking, and biking.
Crooked Creek is located near the town of Turkey Creek.
Fausse
Point State Park
This
beautiful park is located on the edge of the Atchafalaya Basin
Spillway and offers a marked canoe trail with primitive campsites,
several miles of hiking trails, waterfront cabins, campsites,
boat launch, pavilions, conference center and a playground.
There are miles of waterways for canoeing and kayaking. Located
south of St. Martinville on the west guideline levee. Rental

State Park
Fontainbleau
is located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, Hwy. 190,
Mandeville, LA, offers overnight camping, picnicking, a swimming
pool, and a marked nature trail on more than 2700 acres.

Indian Creek Recreation Area
This is the perfect getaway for camping, hiking and boating. Off road
trails are available at nearby Forest Hill. Hook-ups, bath houses,
and a boat ramp are available. Located in The Alexander State Forest
Wildlife Management Area, 515 Forestry Road, Woodworth, LA 337-487-5172.
Kincaid Reservoir
Located in Kisatchie National Forest near Alexandria, this are offers
opportunities for hiking and biking. Terraced campsites hug the side
of the hill. There are restrooms, showers, and hookups.
North
Toledo Bend State Park
On
the eastern shore of one of the country's largest man-made reservoirs,
clean and cool waters gently touch the edges of North Toledo
Bend State Park. More than 900 acres of pine filled lands are
available for camping, hiking, canoeing, and biking. Fully furnished
log cabins with all the comforts of home are available for rent.

Houston Jones Jones State Park

Originally named for the Texas folk hero who traveled extensively
in the western reaches of Louisiana, Sam Houston Jones was given
its current name in honor of the state's 37th governor, who
was instrumental in setting aside this tract of land for the
public to enjoy.
Campers and picnickers alike find the same breathtaking beauty
that has always attracted people to this nature-perfect setting
at the confluence of the West Fork of the Calcasieu and Houston
Rivers and Indian Bayou. Tree-filled lagoons and a mixed pine
and hardwood forest combine to create a unique natural environment.
